i.Link
Also referred to as FireWire or as standard IEEE 1394 and is used for connecting devices to a personal computer. This enables the transfer of DV between devices such as a DV camcorder and a computer. It also refers to the cabling and connectors required to achieve this.
ICT
Information and communications technology. Computing and communications facilities and features that support teaching, learning and a range of activities in education (such as administration). The focus is on the subject being taught or studied, or the organisation being administered, rather than developing pupils' skills with and knowledge of the technologies themselves.
IEEE 1394

Internet
The world-wide computer 'network of networks' that facilitates the high-speed dissemination and transfer of data and information from one computer to another. The most commonly recognized element of the internet is the world wide web, a network of html sites that link to one another using hyperlinks. The internet also enables e-mail, newsgroups and other information media. It is the fastest growing information source on the planet.
Intranet
A means to share private information and resources in the form of a web site amongst a particular group of related users, such as employees of a company or pupils and staff of a college or school. Users access an intranet via a web browser, meaning that to the user the experience of using an intranet is akin to accessing a conventional web site. They can follow links, browse through pages and download documents from an intranet in the same way as they would from a web site.
